Tokka Pregnancy 3

"So what is this news that you wanted to share with us?" Zuko asked, concerned.
"Well..." Sokka puts his hand gently over my stomach causing Katara to look down.
Suddenly she gets it. "Oh my God! Seriously?" Katara was so excited.
Zuko looks at Katara, still unaware of what is going on. "What? Whats going on? Someone tell me what the hell is happening!"
"She's pregnant Zuko! Toph is pregnant!" Katara jumps up and pulls me into a tight embrace.
"I am so happy for you! You will be a great mother. I am going to be an aunt. Finally! I am so excited! We should start decorating the nursery as soon as possible. We have to g-" I cut her off.
"Katara calm the down! Spirits!!! I am not the first woman to have a baby you know?"
Katara senses my frustration and smiles.
"Sorry. I am just so happy for you."
I smile and hug her.

"Congrats Daddy." Zuko pulls Sokka in for a hug.
Sokka laughs.
They are hanging out at the Pai Sho Table while Toph and Katara chat and prepare dinner.
Hikari runs into the room.
"Uncle Sokka why does Auntie Toph have a papaya on her tummy?"
Sokka stares at the young boy confused. "What do you mean buddy?"
"Auntie has a bump under her shirt and it looks like a papaya. Hey dad, I'm hungry. Can I eat a papaya." The boy concerns for his aunt slowly disappear at the idea of eating a delicious juicy fruit.
Sokka laughs. "Man he really is your son. Attention span and all."
Zuko gives Sokka a small shove then laughs. "Well lets hope your kid doesn't inherit your humor."
"Ha Ha!" Sokka gives a sarcastic laugh.
Sokka turns toward Hikari and says, "Listen buddy, Auntie Toph is fine. She has a baby in her belly and in about 5 months you will have a cousin that you can play with."
The little boy looks at his uncle and smiles. "Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee..." He exits the room, his arms spread out like a plane, excited for his little play-mate to arrive.

"Katara, does it hurt?" I look at her and wait for her response.
Katara looks at me as if I had spoken some sort of alien code.
"Does what hurt?" obviously avoiding the answer that she knows I don't want to hear.
"You know what... labor" As I say the word, I feel my throat go dry.
Katara looks at me in her usual motherly way, "Lets just say its worth it. Trust me. It can't be that bad if women are willing to do it more than once."
I think about this and I suddenly feel better.
"Do you think you and Zuko are going to have another child? You know, give a little brother or sister to Hikari?"
Katara looks at me and smiles. "Well if you must know we have been trying to get pregnant for a while now and I am ovulating as of tomorrow so don't try stopping by if you catch my drift." I laugh.
"Duly noted. Thanks for the heads up." We both laugh.

Sokka and I head over to the Palanquin after dinner and head home.
"I am so tired!" I complain.
"Well why wouldn't you be? You are pregnant and its late." He smiles and kisses my forehead.
"Go to sleep if you want. I can carry you to our room when we get home." He caresses my new bump.
I look at him and smile. Sometimes I can't believe how much I love this man.
"Thank you." I say as I put my head in his lap.
I fall asleep as he plays with my hair.
